A Call to Action!

A couple of months ago, I had returned from El Salvador with a vision to bring a group of people to explore the country, it's culture and to share the love of Zumba and volunteerism with the kids and families in need. Truth be gold, my dream wasn't well defined, only that I really wanted to bring the positivity and good vibes of my local Zumba community to the beautiful country of El Salvador to spread goodness all around and to aid in self growth through volunteerism.

Why do Zumba in El Salvador? That seems cheesy you may say. Well, here's why. Dance, no matter how good or bad you are at it, lifts your spirits. My instructor, Cathy Molinett has an infectious positive attitude that leaves even the most apprehensive of want to be dancer loving her Zumba classes. I wanted to bring THAT vibe to El Salvador and bring joy to those who need it.

Okay so....

After a couple of meetings with Cathy and another interested friend, our vision grew... BIG. So now, in addition to  doing Zumba in El Salvador, we are going to be working with a school in El Cuco that is doing GREAT things for it's youth and for the future of El Salvador. Yes, we will do Zumba with them but what's even more exciting is that we have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others by offering up much needed supplies to keep their school running effectively and successfully. We have the opportunity to help repair what needs repairing in the school.

What do we need to do all of this? A lot. First of all, we need human power. A few people can make a difference but a larger group can do so much more. So my first request is for human power.

The school has many needs to keep the kids attending, engaged, stimulated and successful. Take a look at what they currently need.

 *Uniforms, soccer balls, cones, etc
*The high school has a tourism specialty and yet they lack basics for teaching and need a bartender  setup, table settings and linen settings.
*They would love two projectors, stuff for building robots (they participate annually in a robot  building competition)
* Funding for an art teacher and a therapist.

We will only be in El Cuco for a couple of days but we can do a lot in a little amount of time IF we have the human power and the sponsorship to do assist in the schools needs.

Aside from working in the school in El Cuco, we will be spending some time in the town of La Libertad as well. It is here where Remar home for abandoned children resides.  Children living here have suffered from physical and sexual abuse and can now find safety under the wings of the Remar childrens home and it's director who pours her life into ensuring their needs get met. Currently there are 105 young children and adolescents residing here. It takes a village to maintain this home for these children and they do not depend on government or religious backing, they function on donations, volunteers and faith.

Their needs are many as well. Here is a list of what the Remar children need:

*Food
*Boys and girls clothing
*School Supplies
*School shoes
*Assistance to pay for gas, phone and electricity

Our goal is to bring down donations that Remar needs as well as assist in any projects that need working on in addition to sharing the love of Zumba with the kids to brighten their days.

So . . . this is a big deal for me. I want YOU to join me in El Salvador if you're so inclined, and work side by side with me and others who are growing through giving. Explore the beautiful country of El Salvador, do things that make your heart sing and come back home with a renewed sense of purpose. It'll happen, trust me.

If you can't join us, please consider donating or sponsoring the cause. As you can see, the needs are many but we do not want to go empty handed. Let us be global ambassadors for positive change.

Please contact me as soon as possible to reserve your space on this trip, inquire about the fine details or to sponsor portion of the trip.
